2nd Call for Papers
The 2nd Conference on English Language Education in the Chinese Context—Technology and English Language Education will be held on May 3-4, 2019 at Beijing Foreign Studies University.
The conference aims to establish a global knowledge-exchanging platform for English language education researchers, teachers and postgraduate students to share views and perspectives on issues and trends in how to teach or learn English in the Chinese context. Participants could discuss and debate the present state, reform and development of English language education in their specific context.

Conference information:
- Conference sessions: The conference will be composed of keynote speeches and oral presentations.
- Working Languages: English and Chinese, preferably English; please choose the presentation language while submitting abstracts.
- Venue: International Building, Western Campus, Beijing Foreign Studies University (No.19 North Xisanhuan Road, Beijing, P.R. China 100089)
- Registration Fee: The registration fee is RMB¥1000 or USD$145 each for the regular participant, and RMB¥700 or USD$100 each for the full-time postgraduate student. Please pay the registration fee when you arrive at the conference venue. The registration fee includes cost of conference organization and the conference information package. Once paid, it will not be refunded.
- Invoice: Please fill in the invoice details online upon registration.
- Accommodation: The hotel information will be released on the conference website in due course. Please kindly note that the conference organizing committee is NOT responsible for hotel reservation, and the hotel expenses are NOT included in the registration fee.
Abstract submission guideline:
- Deadline of submission: Abstract must be submitted online before March 20, 2019. Click “Registration” to register and submit your abstract. Each leading author (first author) can submit up to 2 abstracts.
- The Body of Abstract: Maximum word count is 300. (Title, authors, affiliations and references are not included in word limit.) The abstract should be composed of research background, objectives, methods and outcomes. (Please do not send full papers.) Please note that illustrations must be embedded in the abstract and cannot be submitted separately. Please include the grant or other support information for your research, if appropriate.
- File Type: Abstracts must be submitted as a MS Word file (.doc or .docx), and could include drawings/graphics/photographs (minimum resolution 300 dpi) when necessary.
- File Name: Please title the abstract file as follows, the presenter’s entire last name, followed by the first initial of their first name plus the word “Abstract”. Example: “SmithJAbstract.doc”
- Format: Times New Roman, 14 point for title and 12 point for body, double-spaced.
- After abstracts are accepted please send short papers to conference@beiwaionline.com.
